This
WW2 Liberty ship was transporting munitions when it ran aground and
broke its back in 1944. At the time the bombs were transported across
the atlantic with the fuses attached. Contemporary salvage emptied the
stern half but the forward section still contains many thousands of
tones of high explosives.
